Global Youth Leadership Institute: Mission To nurture leadership for global communities and to assist schools in their mission to educate socially responsible young people.
St. Francis High School has been a part of the Global Youth Leadership Institute (GYLI) for four years. Please see the GYLI website for more information about the program (www.gyli.org). The program was originally started by ISACS (the Independent Schools Association of the Central States) and then went out on its own. GYLI is a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop their leadership skills and network with students from other Independent schools from around the US. Students apply in their freshmen year, and are chosen by the St. Francis GYLI faculty and the Head of School. The program begins in the summer after the freshman year, and continues in the summers after sophomore year and junior year. The three years of the program are as follows:

We hope that you will consider applying for this exciting opportunity. The tuition for the program is described on the website. You would also be responsible for your own airfare to and from the program, although the school will coordinate travel plans. There is need-based financial aid available for any student who receives financial aid to attend St. Francis High School, so please do not let the costs be a reason to decline this opportunity. If you are interested, please write a one to two paragraph essay on why you would like to do this and deliver it to Alexandra Thurstone by the end of the day Monday, Dec 1st.
